Langdale Pikes - October 2009

7 miles 2,500 ft of ascent 4hrs 45 mins

We parked in the National Trust car park at the Old Dungeon Ghyll and contoured around towards New Dundgeon Ghyll. From here we headed up the beck and within an hour and a half were at Stickle Tarn. Going around the tarn we headed up again behind Pavey Ark, and cut across reasonably flat but boggy land between Thunacar Knott and Harrison's Stickle. We reached a small tarn at Stake Pass and had lunch, before heading back down Stake Gill to the Old Dundgeon Gill.
